On a slightly overcast, but dry and warm day, over 50 members turned out to celebrate International Taoist Tai Chi Awareness Day in Cardiff, in this 30th Anniversary year of the Taoist Tai Chi Society of Great Britain.
We started with a small display set and talk-over outlining the Society as an international organisation, and some of the health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi ™ internal arts of health. These small scale displays continued throughout the day on the Glanfa stage inside the Millennium Centre, and we offered various taster sessions for members of the public who were interested in trying some tai chi.
At 1.30pm we gathered outside, under the impressive canopy of the Millennium Centre, and did two Taoist Tai Chi ™ sets and associated foundation exercises. It was a wonderful spectacle of green t-shirts and smiling faces, all working together to practice Tai Chi and promote this wonderful art. The sun came out and brought with it interested spectators who came to watch, and many asked questions and took leaflets about new classes starting locally in September.
Members from various locations were represented, and it was lovely to see some new faces taking part. It was a great opportunity to come together as a region in this - our 30th year, and to know our friends throughout GB, and across the globe were practicing and celebrating with us made it very special.
