The Society runs classes in halls and centres of all kinds, in areas where there is an instructor able to lead a class. Typically these halls are rented for an afternoon or an evening, and provide a way of reaching out to all parts of the communities which we serve. However we also work towards having a home of our own, wherever possible, at the centre of the communities where we teach Taoist Tai Chi† internal arts and methods.
Being in our own home allows us to develop our capacity for providing the full range of internal arts and methods taught by the Society, including wider service to the community.
Visitors and Members are welcome at our homes.
At present in GB we have four homes. These are part of the international network of homes we have worldwide. See our International Website for further details.
The Centre in Colchester was our first home in GB and is still the largest.
It has a practice hall which can accommodate 250 people, residential accommodation
for 50+, facilities and access for wheelchair users and a fully operational
Chinese cooking kitchen. The Centre serves as the administrative hub of
the Society in GB and in addition to local classes hosts many European
and International events in the course of each year

Our second home was purchased in 1998. The ground floor is already in use, hosting local classes,
intensives and occasional workshops. Plans for renovations of the whole three-storey building are under way.

Our third home was purchased in 2000. The small hall is on the southern edge of
Edinburgh, easily accessible from the city centre and the surrounding area. It required very little refurbishment in order for us to start using it.
The practice hall holds 50 people and the gardens are a constant source of delight to members and local people.

Our fourth home was purchased in 2002. The former church hall has been, and remains,
very much a focus for community life. Although only a few miles from our European Centre, it is in daily use, where activities have a more local focus.
