The Board of the International Taoist Tai Chi Society has assigned an instructor to lead some Intensives in GB in the week 26-30 April.
Events are planned for all three Regions, covering London, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Maldon and Colchester. See events schedules, and posters in class for details.
The current schedule for Tuesday evening is for an Intensive in Scotland. However if recent volcanic activity in Iceland continues to disrupt air travel, the London Branch will host the Intensive. If the event in Scotland goes ahead as planned then a member of the National ICC will lead the London Intensive.

Members have recently been taking part in mass Tai Chi sets performed at different iconic locations around the country. The sets are being filmed as part of the GB Society's contribution to a film showing the set being performed by members in every branch throughout the world, as part of the International Society's 40th Anniversary celebrations.
Around 120 members travelled to London on 20th March to film on the bank of the River Thames next to Tower Bridge, and sets were also filmed in Edinburgh and in Newport.

Followers of the TTCSGB Weblog will already know that the blog was put on hold for a while, to await further developments in the Society's presence on the internet. With the launch of the ITTCS Blog - The Tiger's Mouth - it has been decided to suspend the GB blog indefinitely in favour of the new ITTCS one. The latter brings the members of the Society together in a more global family sense, where we can all benefit from a wide perspective of the Society's news and activities. There are already many articles on the blog which should stimulate thought and understanding of the health and wellbeing aspects of the arts we practice.

The Society will be holding a Public Demonstration in London on Saturday 20th March 2010 between 11:00 – 13:00 outside City Hall (the Mayor’s Office) on the South bank of the Thames.
The purpose is to film members doing the set against the iconic backdrop of Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and the City skyline, as part of the TTCSGB’s contribution to the 40th Anniversary celebration DVD, which will then be available later in the year. All members are invited to come and be part of this unique event.

Members of the Society are raising funds to help rebuild schools in Haiti following the devastating earthquake.
The International Taoist Tai Chi Society (ITTCS), of which the Society in Great Britain is a member, has a history of helping in the aftermath of disasters, such as the 2004 tsunami. The ITTCS made a pledge of $25,000 to the Montreal-based Foundation Paul Gérin-Lajoie, which has been focusing on educational development in Haiti since 1976.
Members in Great Britain have so far donated £6300 to support this pledge but due to the generosity of the members worldwide the Society was able to present $100,000 CDN to the Foundation on Saturday 20th February at an annual Chinese New Years Banquet in Montreal. Donations are still coming in and will continue to be presented to the Foundation as they accumulate.
As a Taoist monk, Master Moy was dedicated to the relief of suffering and following his lead, the Society focuses its relief effort on helping children, choosing to support longer-term rebuilding projects, whilst governments and international agencies focus on the initial help and relief.
