The Taoist Tai Chi Society of Great Britain Maldon Centre celebrated its fifth anniversary on Sunday, 29th June 2008, with John Whittingdale MP; Sheila Young, Vice Chair of Maldon District Council; Tony Southam, Chairman of Age Concern, Essex; and other invited guests.
Over 250 members and guests enjoyed a demonstration of Taoist Tai Chi† internal art of taijiquan followed by speeches, which reflected the health benefits of this art.
The afternoon programme continued with a traditional Chinese Lion Dance. Canon David Atkins, who has a long association with the building and the Society, cut the special celebratory cake.
