International Taoist Tai Chi Awareness Day 2010

Where

When
- Saturday 14 Aug 10; members from all branches in the Region will perform Taoist Tai Chi† sets throughout the day, starting at 10:00, culminating with the “International Worldwide Set” at 15:00. This is when groups throughout the International Society will be performing the set at the same time.
- Volunteers will be required to help at the European Centre where we will be entertaining our guests before they come to watch the “International Worldwide Set” at 15:00.
Travel
- Each branch will be responsible for booking coaches and co-ordinating the pick-up point’s en-route to Colchester.
To be sure of a seat, please sign up early. The buses will be FREE, but donations welcomed towards costs of buses.
What to wear
- Members will need to purchase an Awareness Day t-shirt at a cost of £10 and to wear black full-length trousers; by wearing the Awareness Day t-shirt together with black full length trousers, we hope to make a significant impact on the people watching us;
- Please complete the sign-up form at class to ensure that there is a t-shirt and a seat on the coach available for every member who wishes to take part in the demonstrations;
- Coaches should go to the Centre first where the t-shirts will be available for collection and where members will be able to change into them before progressing on to Castle Park;
- There will also be a small number of t-shirts available at the park for those who will find their own way there.
Security
- Castle Park is an open, busy place with lots of people around. This makes it ideal for Awareness Day but difficult for security of personal belongings. Please bring as few personal belongings with you as possible, especially valuable items.
Catering and Clearing Up
- We will be providing light refreshments during the afternoon between 12:00 and 15:00 at the Lion Walk United Reformed Church (as signposted) which is only a few minutes walk from Castle Park;
- Volunteers are required at the Park on the day to help man the stand, look after valuables and to ensure the site is kept clean, tidy and free from litter.
